Taking a play world on the road
Lorrylaugh is a concept for a travelling playground built around a semi-trailer. Inside, a themed environment invites children to climb, explore and follow stories. Smaller play pieces can be set up outside, extending the space around the vehicle. Designing a playground that moves also means planning the service needed to bring it to each location.
Planning the space and the service
Research into existing play settings combined field observations and interviews. The design accommodates both guided play with a story to follow and free exploration, so children can engage with the same space in different ways.
The trailer gives the playground a fixed structure for travelling between locations. Inside, the arrangement needs room for climbing and moving through the theme; outside, smaller pieces can extend the play area. A laser-cut model helped study how these activities could fit within the trailer’s proportions.

A forest for climbing and exploring
The forest theme fills the trailer with oversized trees, mushrooms, openings and climbing elements. These forms support a guided adventure as well as play without a set story. The long trailer layout brings the different activities into a connected space.
Smaller movable pieces carry the theme outside the vehicle. Desert, ocean, fire and castle settings were also explored, with the forest developed into a more detailed environment.

A playful identity
A pink, vehicle-shaped symbol connects the Lorrylaugh identity to its mobile format. The rounded wordmark and bright illustrated worlds carry the same playful character into the theme graphics and promotional artwork. Each setting has its own scenery while belonging to the same travelling playground.
